Rainbows have always fascinated me. Such beautiful colors in the sky attract attention without fail. Every time I look at one I see it from a different angle, but always.... up. I wonder what it really would be like to look DOWN at one? Although this picture doesn't exactly show this, it does make you think about it. However, one day we may actually BE ABLE TO LOOK DOWN ON ONE. Consider the following passage from the book of Revelation....
Revelation 21:1-4 (WEB)
1) I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.
2) I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
3) I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
4) He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”
Being with God in the New Jerusalem will change things. The world below will somehow see unimportant, but I am sure that if God chooses to retain something beautiful from the old world below a rainbow is a likely candidate. Who knows? I guess we will just have to wait and see; in the meantime, enjoy the color! Its always worthwhile to take the time to consider the creations of God, especially if they are beautiful.
