Our
country is changing. There is a dramatic shift from truth to error;
from God’s word to human ideas. There are those who would reinforce
their own misconceptions of “truth” by simply redefining it.
Change the words and change the truth is their motto. Examples of
this abound: bad is now good, sex outside of marriage is no longer
fornication, it’s just sex, sin is now being misguided or sickness
and those who speak anything from God’s word that interferes a
person’s sinful behavior is now called “Hate speech”.
In
reality, though, TRUTH DOES NOT CHANGE! Truth is genuine reality and
begins and ends with God almighty. His standards are the only ones
that will determine eternal life and Jesus spoke the Father’s truth
and was hated for it. Consider this exchange between Jesus and the
“religious leaders” of the first century…
John
8 (World
English
Bible)
30
As
he spoke these things, many believed in him. 31 Jesus
therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If
you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. 32 You
will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’ ?”
34 Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. 35 A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever. 36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s seed, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you. 38 I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”
39 They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.

Jesus
was hated because he revealed sin for the evil that it truly is. More
than that he showed people exactly who they were deep down in the
recesses of their heart. His words would have been understood as
“hate speech” because he used God’s standards to define sin and
not the vogue of the day.
He
showed them the path to truth and they did not take it. People are
still rejecting him today, we just don’t call them Pharisees. Call
them liberals, humanists, free thinkers or politically correct, they
all have one thing in common- they hate what God wants them to change
in their lives.
Now,
I know that some people will not like all this, but these things are
true and if taken to heart, can change your life for the better. I
guess the only thing left to say is: Will you listen to what God has
to say to you or will you remain in the sin of disbelief?
