More than halos by Gary Rose

What a strange image this is; and what caused it? According to NASA – Refraction of ice crystals. Precisely, they refer to it as a Solar Ice Halo. And those rainbows are formed from Ice as well??

meteorologic-ally speaking, this may be correct, but to me such wonders are far more than some cold, factual, scientific description. They are nothing more than the hand of God, revealing the magnificence of his creation.

It is written in the book of Job…

Job 37 (World English Bible)

 ¹⁰ By the breath of God, ice is given,
and the breadth of the waters is frozen. (emphasis added)
  ¹¹ Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture.
He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
  ¹² It is turned around by his guidance,
that they may do whatever he commands them
on the surface of the habitable world,
  ¹³ Whether it is for correction, or for his land,
or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come. (emphasis added)

It is nice to know a scientific explanation of the world around us, but when we get right down to it, all of us have that place in our heart where we are like a young child in wonderment at the world around us.

As for me, I believe what the Bible says and accept it at face value. If that makes me seem childish to you – so be it! I would much rather include God in any understanding of the world around us than only the convoluted explanation of the scientific elite.

Why something like Solar Ice Halos exist is beyond me, but then again, verse 13 above seems straightforward to me - God has his reasons!!!

I encourage you this very day to seek after God and come to know the creator of all the universe, for some day we will all stand before HIS judgment seat!
