A wall or open borders; the choice is yours by Gary Rose

I saw this picture lately and it reminded me of the current stalemate in Washington. For about 12 days or so, the government has been in a status of partial shutdown. The Democratic party wants open borders and will not give our president the funding to build the wall that will protect our country from un-vetted aliens who wish to enter illegally. Many in the Republican party have rallied to the President’s cause and have been encouraging him to stand firmly for wall funding. So- stalemate!

What difference does it make? All the difference in the world, for as a nation we decide who to all into our nation and who should not. If this sounds a bit unfair to some of you, then consider the words of Jesus:

Matthew 7 (World English Bible)
13  Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.  14  How  narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it.  …

24  Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.   25  The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.   26  Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.   27  The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

To paraphrase: it is easy to go to destruction and difficult to into life (eternal life, that is). Later on in this same chapter, Jesus tells us the foundation of a lifestyle that will lead to heaven… heeding and doing what Jesus says to do.

Lastly: Be wise, listen to Jesus- REALLY LISTEN and do something about it; if you don’t you will wish you had. Remember, your everlasting life depends upon what you do!!!
