Not
a neighbor in sight and protected on several sides, living high on a
mountain. Secure; you bet it is. Beyond these physical things, just
the scenery and those beautiful clouds evokes a feeling of serenity.
I
wonder, can anyone of us say that we feel completely secure today?
Think of it – how many times a day does your phone ring with people
trying to sell you something or deceitfully attempting to trick you
into revealing your personal information?
Is
anything safe? Can we be sure of Anything? Well, I know of something…

16:13, Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he
asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of
Man, am?”

16:14, They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and
others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
Mat
16:15, He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Mat 16:16, Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son
of the living God.”
Mat 16:17, Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar
Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my
Father who is in heaven.
Mat 16:18, I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this
rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not
prevail against it.
Those
who acknowledge Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God (vs
16) are truly safe. For they have been added to the assembly which
Christ has built. There is no power in heaven or Earth that can
overcome God’s will for those who have chosen HIM as their LORD and
Savior. (vs 18) see also 1Cor. 10:4; 1Pet. 2:8 along with Matthew
