But the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat, you shall not redeem; they are holy: you shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savor to Yahweh.
But the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat, thou shalt not ransom: they are holy. Thou shalt sprinkle their blood on the altar, and their fat shalt thou burn as an offering by fire for a sweet odour to Jehovah.
`Only, the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou dost not ransom, holy they [are]: their blood thou dost sprinkle on the altar, and of their fat thou makest perfume, a fire-offering of sweet fragrance to Jehovah,

and their flesh is thine, as the breast of the wave-offering, and as the right leg, it is thine;

Numbers 18 19
All the heave-offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to Yahweh, have I given you, and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever: it is a covenant of salt forever before Yahweh to you and to your seed with you.
All the heave-offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to Jehovah, have I given thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by an everlasting statute: it shall be an everlasting covenant of salt before Jehovah unto thee and thy seed with thee.
all the heave-offerings of the holy things which the sons of Israel lift up to Jehovah I have given to thee and to thy sons, and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute age-during, a covenant of salt, age-during it [is] before Jehovah, to thee and to thy seed with thee.`

Numbers 18 20
Yahweh said to Aaron, You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them: I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.

Numbers 18 21
To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the tent of meeting.
And to the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they perform, the service of the tent of meeting.

for I have given for an inheritance to the Levites the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as a heave-offering to Jehovah; therefore I have said of them, They shall possess no inheritance among the children of Israel.
but the tithe of the sons of Israel which they lift up to Jehovah, a heave-offering, I have given to the Levites for inheritance; therefore I have said of them, In the midst of the sons of Israel they have no inheritance.`

Numbers 18 25
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Numbers 18 26
Moreover you shall speak to the Levites, and tell them, When you take of the children of Israel the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a heave-offering of it for Yahweh, a tithe of the tithe.
And to the Levites shalt thou speak, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer a heave-offering from it for Jehovah, the tenth of the tithe.
`And unto the Levites thou dost speak; and thou hast said unto them, When ye take from the sons of Israel the tithe which I have given to you from them, for your inheritance, then ye have lifted up from it the heave-offering of Jehovah, a tithe
of the tithe;

Numbers 18 27
Your heave-offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.
And your heave-offering shall be reckoned unto you, as the corn from the threshing-floor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
and your heave-offering hath been reckoned to you as corn from the threshing-floor, and as fulness from the wine-vat;

Numbers 18 28
Thus you also shall offer a heave-offering to Yahweh of all your tithes, which you receive of the children of Israel; and of it you shall give Yahweh`s heave-offering to Aaron the priest.
Thus ye also shall offer Jehovah`s heave-offering of all your tithes, which ye take of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof Jehovah`s heave-offering to Aaron the priest.
so ye do lift up -- ye also -- the heave-offering of Jehovah from all your tithes which ye receive from the sons of Israel; and ye have given from it the heave-offering of Jehovah to Aaron the priest;

Numbers 18 29
Out of all your gifts you shall offer every heave-offering of Yahweh, of all the best of it, even the holy part of it out of it.
Out of all that is given you ye shall offer the whole heave-offering of Jehovah, -- of all the best thereof the hallowed part thereof.
out of all your gifts ye do lift up the whole heave-offering of Jehovah; out of all its fat, -- its hallowed part -- out of it.

Numbers 18 30
Therefore you shall tell them, When you heave the best of it from it, then it shall be reckoned to the Levites as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the wine-press.
And thou shalt say unto them, When ye heave the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as produce of the threshing-floor, and as produce of the winepress.
`And thou hast said unto them, In your lifting up its fat out of it, then it hath been reckoned to the Levites, as increase of a threshing-floor, and as increase of a wine-vat;

Numbers 18 31
You shall eat it in every place, you and your households: for it is your reward in return for your
service in the tent of meeting.
And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households; for it is your reward for your
service in the tent of meeting.
and ye have eaten it in every place, ye and your households, for it [is] your hire in exchange for your service in the tent of meeting;

Numbers 18 32
You shall bear no sin by reason of it, when you have heaved from it the best of it: and you shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, that you not die.
And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, if ye heave from it the best of it; and ye shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
and ye bear no sin for it, in your lifting up its fat out of it, and the holy things of the sons of Israel ye do not pollute, and ye die not.`

A LOOK AT ATTITUDE about self

Phil. 1:12-18 Paul writes from a Roman prison.
The providence of God is recognized

Phil. 1:19-21 Paul intends to glorify God whether in life or in death. Making the best of a bad situation - Looking with hope.

Christians do not live for themselves - but for God.

Rom. 14:7-8 "For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. (8) For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's."

Paul demonstrated this:

Gal. 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

We belong to Him - because we have died with Him:

Rom. 6:3-4 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (4) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

A LOOK AT TRUST in God

Phil. 3:3 We are those who should have no confidence in the flesh

Phil. 3:4-7 Paul could have boasted of confidence in the flesh

Things that many consider important:
Nationality - Education - Accomplishments

Example - Israel entered Canaan with a warning not to trust in the flesh:

Deut. 8:7-18 Grace received from God leaves nothing for us to boast of.

LOOKING BACK - Paul gave up confidence in the flesh

Phil. 3:8-11 Exchanging physical things for spiritual things

What will we give in exchange for our confidence in physical things?

Mt. 16:26 "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

What stands between us and Heaven? Pride? Wealth? Pleasure? Time?

LOOKING AT THE PRESENT

Phil. 3:12 We haven't arrived yet - This is not the time to rest on laurels There is danger in becoming satisfied in our accomplishments

Lk. 12:16-21 The rich fool rested too soon.

We need vision to see that souls need to hear the gospel today

Jn. 4:34-35 "Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. (35) Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest?' Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!' "

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

Phil. 3:13-14 Don't look back - It's counter-productive
You can't change the past - You can only reach to the future.

Example - The Israelites after leaving Mt. Sinai - looked back at Egypt:

Num. 11:4-6 "Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: 'Who will give us meat to eat? (5) We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; (6) but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!' "

The Lord sent quail - they were gluttonous & suffered a great plague.

Example - The Israelites go from Mt. Hor, past Edom -They complained

Num. 21:4-6 "Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. (5) And the people spoke against God and against Moses: 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.' (6) So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the of Israel died."

2 Pet. 2:20-ff Better to not know - than to know & turn back.

Those who set their mind on earthly things v/s Our heavenly citizenship:

Phil. 3:17-4:1 We eagerly wait - Therefore we stand fast.

How we endure to reach the goal that we press toward:

Phil. 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing - and His peace will guard our hearts.

Phil. 4:8 Meditate on good things - instead of negative things.

Phil. 4:11-12 Learn to be content under every circumstance.

Our confidence is not in the flesh but in Christ, Therefore:

Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Jn. 15:4-5 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. (5) I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
