This statement is a truism. The way that is easy usually doesn’t amount to much in the long run. As I think about this, I recall that Thomas Edison tried many, many times to make a successful light bulb and kept failing in his efforts- then, he succeeded.
Today, the godless way is the way of the crowd- remember all those riots last summer? People destroyed property, burned businesses and looted in city after city. All those who sin, well, they encourage others to do so. Corrupt politicians have made the legal system a joke and with no immediate punishment for those who break the law, they just keep on doing whatever they want.
Christianity has become increasingly persecuted, but if you truly love Jesus, you will keep on doing what you know to be right; regardless of the consequences.
I like what Jesus said in Matthew 7…
Matthew 7 ( World English Bible )
13 “Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.
14 How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it.
The easy way is the wide gate and the more difficult way is the narrow gate. Most people choose to follow the way of the world and go through the wide gate… and they live a lifestyle of sin. Ultimately, though, the sin that is practiced today will have dire consequences tomorrow. But most people simply do not think of tomorrow, do they?
Do the right thing. It may seem like a poor choice to some, but in reality; it is the only thing to do. Believe this, for it is true!
