Not me...?

Cynicism, apathy, aloofness, disinterest; they all come from a "hooray for me and who cares about you" attitude.  We see so much that is wrong in the world, and the things we really care about, all seemed tainted by corruption.  Although I wasn't a fan, I was so sorry to see the fall of Jimmy Swaggart, the evangelist.  Somehow, it put a shadow over all who genuinely try to proclaim the Word of God.  Yet, we can't let the failure of others discourage us from doing right and we SHOULD do right regardless of what others do.  Listen to the words of JESUS...

Matthew 5:38-48 (WEB)
38) “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
39) But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40) If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
41) Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
42) Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.
43) “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’
44) But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
45) that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46) For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
47) If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
48) Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Don't be distracted from what Jesus teaches; instead, listen and practice what he says.  Its tough to actually DO what he teaches, but if there is any fault, it is in OR ability to exercise self-control, REGARDLESS of the situation.  Ideals are goals.  We are imperfect human beings; we actually do make mistakes and if WE DO, IT MAKES SENSE THAT OTHERS WILL AS WELL.  So, be patient with yourself and with others.  Care about others, love them, and never allow cynicism to enter your life; it just makes you a small person.  By the way, the person the above graphic refers to is someone who takes "notes" because they want to remember the faults of others. By doing so, their own "standards of personal conduct" can be lowered to the level of caring that they can feel comfortable with.  Be better than that!!!  You just might help someone else really care and they might change the world!!!!!!!
