My thanks to sister Gail Martin for today's post!!! Some time ago, she sent me the link at the top and frankly, its worth the effort to paste it into your browser and view it. For those of us who are technologically challenged, I placed a simple picture (M81 seen in various light spectrum's) below it; one that will be familiar to those who have seen my "Composite Bible". Although my usage of this picture is over a decade, still this picture (like the U-Tube video) is fascinating to me. Imagine the sheer complexity of the cosmos around us; for if we only see with just our eyes, how much more is there to view!!! Which, of course, led me back to one of my favorite passages of Scripture...
World English Bible: Psalms Chapter 8
[1] Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth,
who has set your glory above the heavens!
[2] From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength,
because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
[3] When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
[4] what is man, that you think of him?
What is the son of man, that you care for him?
[5] For you have made him a little lower than God,
and crowned him with glory and honor.
[6] You make him ruler over the works of your hands.
You have put all things under his feet:
[7] All sheep and cattle,
yes, and the animals of the field,
[8] The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea,
and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
[9] Yahweh, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
It is a little humbling to think of the complexity of our bodies. Consider how many billions of individual molecules comprise homo sapiens. We have spent generation upon generation attempting to understand the inner workings of our bodies and we still are a long way from understanding everything. And this effort is not restricted to the mere physical as well. How about the inner workings of the mind or our inter-personal relationships? The day someone finally understands everything about LOVE will be one to mark on the calendar!!! Beyond ourselves, consider how everything see can see and understand fits together. From how we relate to one another, to the magnificent harmony of the Eco-systems on this small blue ball we call home, there is a grand design that is amazing to just consider, let alone comprehend. Beyond this lies the complexity of the universe and in all and through all lies the fingerprint of the creator. And he loves us... almost beyond belief!!!
