"THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW" Chapter Twenty-Three With the religious leaders silenced by their inability to entangle Jesus with their questions, Jesus proceeded to decry the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees in a series of scorching rebukes (1-36).
