Monday's are the toughest day of the week for me; weigh in at weight watchers. I suppose its good for me to regularly be thinking about my weight, but it is a pain sometimes. However, as of last Monday, I am down 27lbs, so this cartoon is more cute than serious. On a serious note, I awoke today with the news that the Supreme Court of our land upheld Obamacare. Honestly, I am quite upset today, because I perceive this as just being one more intrusion in my personal liberty. This country is gradually becoming socialist and that is not what the framers of our constitution had in mind. As I look at this picture, normally I would think that this man is just going for a regular physical, but what if it were something else? Suppose this is a weight tax checkup. All those over a certain weight could be forced to pay a tax for their physical condition. Think the government couldn't do this? Think again!!! There is already talk of limiting how much popcorn a person can buy in New York City!!!!! Honestly, the topic of overbearing government really pushes my buttons!!!!! When it does, I go back to the Bible for a little sanity.....
Romans, chapter 13
1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. 2 Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same, 4 for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil. 5 Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, attending continually on this very thing. 7 Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. 8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Today's post is not for those who read this; it is for me. I have the problem of submission. May God grant me the power to listen to these words and obey. Even if everything in my being tells me to rebel, I must submit, for that is the will of God; and I will! But, for the time being I can still vote and from this day forward I will NEVER VOTE FOR ANY DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE EVER!!!
May God bless America; if America blesses GOD!!!!!!
