From Gary... Imagination, Firebirds and serendipity

To me, my granddaughter's picture (The Photo Girl) looks like a bird about to take wing, but, that is just my thinking.  It could be a wishbone, a divining rod (for finding water) or any one of a thousand things, I suppose.  I like the thought of a bird, and to be a tad more specific- a THUNDERBIRD!!!  I freely admit that I have an active imagination, as the above comments reveal, but I guess that is just from reading to many Science Fiction Books as a pre-teen.  So, I can imagine the wildest things and therefore writing this blog is an exercise in creativity for me.  However, I have to ask the question: Is there anything that I can't imagine?  The following passage from the book of 1st Corinthians answers that very plainly....

1 Corinthians, Chapter 2
1 When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.  2 For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.  3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.  4 My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,  5 that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.  6 We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing.  7 But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,  8 which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written,
“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear,
which didn’t enter into the heart of man,
these God has prepared for those who love him.”

Have you ever received a gift that simply blew you away?  I have; when I was 11 my maternal grandmother gave me a brand new bike.  It was a beautiful thing and I rode it for many years.  Later, I learned that she refrained from clothing purchases for a whole year, just so that she could give me what she knew I really wanted!!!  Her self-sacrifice was love in action and when I saw that bike- WOW!!!!  I can only imagine the wonders of heaven and the blessings that await there, but I am very sure that "WOW" will be entirely inadequate!!!!

P.S. In case you are wondering- The picture that Lizzie took is of A SPARKLER ON THE 4TH OF JULY!!!!!

P.S.S.  I wonder if there will be birthdays in Heaven???
