We took our dog, Buddy, to the vet today. He is doing better, but is experiencing the beginnings of terminal renal failure. For the first time, the vet said his life expectancy is now measured in months, not years. So, we came home with more medication and the knowledge that our beloved dog will be with us a little while longer. We are both happy and sad at the same time. Somehow, this picture of a fox in the (summer?) rain seemed to fit with our situation. I imagine, even a fox can enjoy the moment it rains- so whatever time our beloved pet has left there will be joy in it.
Gary- Consider the words of the preacher; they apply to you today...
Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3 (WEB)
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good as long as they live.
And not only for me, but for us all to realize that even one moment can be an eternity. Celebrate today, find pleasure where you can, because even good things will cease. Seek God, develop your relationship with HIM, because in HIM is the essence and very substance of eternity.
PS. Although Buddy is not in good health, he is in absolutely NO PAIN. And even with all his problems, there is a blessing- We love him more with each passing day!!!!!
