The blessing in THE NAME by Gary Rose

This would make a beautiful picture for your wall. Beautiful because of its artistic composition and also for what it says. Even though you can read the words in the picture, they are not THAT easy to read, so I went to copy them and realized that there was actually more that should be copied....

Numbers, Chapter 6

22  Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,  23 “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, ‘This is how you shall bless the children of Israel.’ You shall tell them,
24 ‘Yahweh bless you, and keep you.
25 Yahweh make his face to shine on you,
and be gracious to you.
26 Yahweh lift up his face toward you,
and give you peace.’
27  “So they shall put my name on the children of Israel; and I will bless them.”

God's name has significance, it has power. Yahweh created everything in this world and if HIS name is on you- well, YOU are special!!!

The apostle Peter says...

1 Peter, Chapter 2 (WEB)
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:  10 who in time past were no people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (emp. added GDR)

God chose Israel to be a special nation- to be blessed. In the new testament, God chose all men that will obediently follow HIM to be HIS people- and sealed the covenant with the blood of his own SON!

Remember...

Ephesians, Chapter 2 (WEB)
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,  5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),  6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,  7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus;  8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  9 not of works, that no one would boast.  10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

11  Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision”, (in the flesh, made by hands); 12 that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.  13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.  14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,  15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;  16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility thereby. (emp. added GDR)

Somehow, I think this makes a better picture for the wall; all I have to do is come up with a frame...

Philippians, Chapter 2 (WEB)
5  Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,  6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.  8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross.  9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;  10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,  11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (emp. added GDR)

AMEN AND AMEN!!!
