A friend will tell you the truth always, but an enemy never will. Jesus ever promises, and warns us, but the devil never does. The Lord promised us eternal life if we obey the gospel, and has warned us time, and time again that hell, and damnation awaits those who don’t. In Jesus, we have no greater friend, if we obey him.
