CONFUSION ABOUT THE SHED BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST BY STEVE FINNELL
Was it essential for Jesus to shed His blood so mankind could receive forgiveness from sin? Yes! The confusion results when men inject their own opinions has to how men avail themselves of the forgiveness from the blood of Christ.
Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (NKJV)
Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, (NKJV)
Forgiveness is available only because Jesus shed His blood on the cross. The question is how do men contact the blood of Christ.
Those living under the new covenant only have the blood applied when they are saved by obeying the gospel plan of salvation. TERMS OF PARDON: Faith John 3:16-Confession Romans 10:9-Repentance Acts 3:19-Water Immersion Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16.
Some proclaim the water baptism is not essential for forgiveness, because only the blood of Jesus Christ washes away sins. These same people claim that your sins are forgiven by simply believing in Jesus. If only the blood of Jesus washes away sins, then how can faith alone wash sins away. Looks like they are saying faith washes away sins.
Salvation is available because Jesus shed His blood, however, all men still have to obey the gospel in order to be forgiven.
The blood Jesus is only applied after FAITH-REPENTANCE-CONFESSION-AND IS APPLIED AT THE POINT OF IMMERSION IN WATER. Ephesians 5:25-26....as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (NKJV) Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (NKJV)
God made His grace available by sending Jesus to shed His blood. God's grace is only accessed by the saved.
