From Gary... A sign for the times

Things are changing for Christians in The United States of America. Now, there is outright opposition to those who have faith in Jesus. Laws which hinder Christianity are consistently being passed. Soon, those same lawmakers will pass legislation making it illegal to practice Christianity in any form.  This will happen; then what? The choice will be up to you: either you will remain faithful and suffer or bend to the will to the powers of that be. This is not a new choice, consider...

Acts, Chapter 5 (WEB)
17  But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,  18 and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public custody.  19 But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out, and said,  20 “Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”

21  When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.  22 But the officers who came didn’t find them in the prison. They returned and reported,  23 “We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”

24  Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.  25 One came and told them, “Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.”  26 Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.

27  When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them,  28 saying, “Didn’t we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood on us.”

29  But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.  30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.  31 God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.  32 We are His witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

33  But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and determined to kill them.

2 Timothy, Chapter 3 (WEB)
10 But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,  11 persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.  12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.  13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.  15 From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.  16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,  17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

These are NOT pleasant things to contemplate, but they are important!!! If you are a Christian living in the Middle East, you are in danger, today.  What day will the same statement be true of America- who knows? The important thing is to ground yourself in the Word of GOD and be willing to follow HIM, no matter what!!!

Jesus said...

Matthew, Chapter 10 (WEB)
24  “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.   25  It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!   26  Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.   27  What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.   28  Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

Remember the sign and the words of Jesus- press on, regardless of what happens!!!

Revelation, Chapter 2 (WEB)
10  Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.   11  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death.

Enough said...
