Thirty
years ago, I worked in a laboratory in Sayreville, New Jersey. The
building was a newer one and great place to work. But, we had one
problem – someone liked to steal lunches out of the refrigerator in
the lunch room. After awhile, I stopped putting food in the fridge
and just brought things to eat that I could keep in my desk. We never
did find out who the culprit was but after all these years, it is not
really important anymore.
Still,
no one likes having their food stolen (or anything else for that
matter). And the “Anti-Theft Lunch Bags” would have been a nice
solution to an irritating problem. Now, I know that nothing ever
seems to last- things rust, break, become obsolete, get misplaced or
even worse, stolen. But, what if you could have something that could
NEVER be changed? The apostle Paul writes…

8:35, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could
oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36, Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all
day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Rom 8:37, No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors
through him who loved us.
Rom 8:38, For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers,
Rom 8:39, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.
And
the answer is… The love of Christ! Nothing can separate us from
Jesus’ love; absolutely NOTHING! This is NOT A TRICK (like that
Anti-Theft Bag). Jesus’ love trumps EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE!
Jesus never changes his decision to love us; we can decide not to
follow him anymore, but Jesus’ decision towards us will never, ever
change.
Accept
it, appreciate it and love him back. You will be eternally glad you
did!
