Diabolical, simply diabolical! And the picture isn't bad either!! The parent that could actually do this must be one tough cookie!!! I wasn't that clever a parent, I just gave exercise as punishment. So, its clear to me that "raccoon wisdom" is something I could learn from. Today, there is an emphasis on getting an advanced college degree, when in fact there should be an emphasis on practical training; both vocational and scholastic. We need more electricians, welders, machinists, engineers, draftsman, scientists etc. and fewer people with philosophy degrees. But, what happens when we have an overabundance of education and not enough common sense? As a society, we become "wise in our own eyes" and forget God. This is happening in America this very day and it is not pretty. Consider these two passages from the Bible...
1 Corinthians, Chapter 3 (WEB)
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” 20 And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.” 21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, 23 and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
Daniel, Chapter 2 (WEB)
20 Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his. 21 He changes the times and the seasons; he removes kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding; 22 he reveals the deep and secret things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
The world is in trouble; conflict and outright war are becoming the norm. Terrorism is abounding and the world really seems to be heading towards World War III. Amid all this we need to remember that God is in control; that even all the awful things in the world can ultimately be turned into something better. God can turn a victim into a victor, and a problem into a solution. Honestly, I don't have a clue how God will straighten out the world, but HE WILL- believe that; because its true!!! And the solution will not be diabolical- it will be heavenly!!!
